Ok so this is a totally unmusical entry but hey...
Last night i went to see a rare lecture by my absolutely favourite author - double Booker Prize winner and Nobel Prize laureate J. M Coetzee. As anyone who knows his reputation will be aware, he is notoriously reclusive and anti-socail. so imagine my surprise at his personability - sure he was a bit awkward but he seemed almost to enjoy the experience. and his lecture was great, capturing the aspect of his (and andre brink's) work that i love most, the tension of immediate post colonialism. and the best part, he signed my book afterwards, which is also something he rarely does. So now i have a signed first edition hardcover pre-second booker, pre-nobel copy of 'disgrace'. in mint condition.
ahhhhh.... i drool on the keyboard as i speak.

in somewhat related news (drooling on the keyboard that is) i had one of my rare turns the other day and unfortunately was caught by the one person i really never wanted to see me like that. so i hope it hasnt made them hate me. on the upside i feel so much better now.
